This photo shows the form for the walkway. A little masonite cut into 6 inch strips and some lath spacers. I even predetermined the spacing of the stepping stones, as you can see, sprayed with white paint.

There was many a night that I lay awake trying to figure out just how to put all of this together. When I could finally visualize each step, then I felt I could proceed with confidence.

You can find the masonite and the pier forms at places that sell all your home building materials. They have nice men there, too, that can cut things just to your specifications.

This is what the stepping stones look like before the water was added to the pond. Here you can see them connected to the concrete piers and the piers connected to a 6 inch 'walkway' that holds everything securely in place. The concrete blocks have not been removed yet, still holding the form for this walkway until the concrete sets. One cannot nail or stake any forms when working on top of the rubber liner...so I used up a few rolls of that miraculously wonderful duct tape...and backed that with the concrete blocks. Underneath the liner, where the walkway is, is another 6 inches of concrete to support the whole thing.

You know those nice men I was talking about earlier? Well, I guess I forgot to tell you they were also very young...for WHO, in their right mind, after having achieved the wisdom that only an older age brings, would do all that heavy work? Here we are, those dear young men and me. You can see how I was right there, of course, telling 'em how to do it!
