Alpine Garden. Rock Gardening On The Net is an instructional site on Trough Gardening.

National Pesticide Telecommunications Network, is a helpful guide in understanding the risks associated with the use of pesticides in the garden and the environmental impact they may produce .

Soil Food by Dr. Elaine Ingham .....You must not miss this site. It is the most informative site that I know of that explains the benefits of supplying FOOD FOR YOUR SOIL! You should learn how to feed your soil, instead of your plants. By feeding your soil, it in turn, feeds your plants and keeps them healthy. Dr. Ingham's site will help you to understand what good, healthy soil is all about.

HORTICOPIA Home Page will guide you to horticultural CDs that are available for your library.

If you love nature like I love nature, you must always be searching the web for more and more information on the things that really make a garden come alive, such as the beautiful butterflies. Here's a page full of Links to Butterfly WebSites. Please take the time to enjoy! There is simply nothing like having butterflies in your garden. So take your time, and learn which plants will host these little beauties. Surely, we can all learn what to grow for the priviledge of having these beautiful little garden friends fluttering by.

Nancy's Favorite Links
NANCY'S FAVORITE LINKS
These are selected sites that will guide you to both private and commercial Perennial & Daylily Gardens, and much more.

Now, don't forget that the "back" browser button will continue to return you to this links page after viewing each site.
Charlotte's Daylily Diary will link you to many of the world's best daylily hybridizers. The modern daylily far surpasses the old roadside, orange "ditch lilies." Here is a selection of sites that show the latest of the current hybridizing efforts; some sites include vistas of the gardens, as well as the individual flowers. Many of my good gardening friends are listed on Charlotte's site, so be prepared to take a few days to view Charlotte's favorite links...they are all my favorites, too!

Join the American Hemerocallis Society ; and also, the American Iris Society . These two societies represent membership by gardeners who are very knowledgeable and will lead you in the right direction toward making your own garden paradise.

The three neighboring states of Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas now have a wonderful new and informative daylily website of their own. Please go to the Region 11 home page, generously built and maintained by John Eiseman, to see what's happening in our neck of the woods. If you live in this three state area, and join the national society (American Hemerocallis Society), you will automatically become a member of Region 11. We have a great time getting to know our gardening friends from these neighboring states. Once a year we get to meet and tour each other's cities and wonderful daylily gardens by bus.

The Sooner State Iris Society is our local Oklahoma affiliation of the American Iris Society.

My favorite local nurseries: Bob Scott's Landscaping Nursery. Bob hybridizes wonderful daylilies and sells many great Hostas and other perennials. Bob and wife Verna can also ship plants to you.

TLC - The Plant Professionals, also another favorite. This is a local Oklahoma source for good perennials, complete with a very knowledgable and cheerful staff to help you. This nursery is the place that carries HuMore.....the exceptional Oklahoma made product that will completely rebuild your soil. It is like no other composted material for it includes alfalfa as a major ingredient.

Oklahoma City has a fantastic accredited Botanical Garden and simply great Zoo, all wrapped up in one neat package at the
Oklahoma City Zoo & Botanical Garden .....this should be worth the trip alone to our fair state......But then why miss out on the rest of the package? To complete your tour (and what gardener would want to miss out on anything) the Myriad Botanical Gardens and it's Crystal Bridge is in a unique setting, right down town. We are also proud to have a new River Walk, much like the one in San Antonio, complete with those neat little river boats!

Then visit the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum that makes it's home in Oklahoma City, on Persimmon Hill. This is a national museum and art gallery that is beyond belief! Don't let the name make you think this is just about roping lil 'o doggies! It contains artwork and history that is simply incredible!

Robert Axmear's Hosta Photo Library  will tempt you to start that shade garden. A feast for the eyes with approximately 4,000 wonderful hosta photos to browse, and more!

The Oklahoma Koi Society has a website devoted mainly to furthering the education of it's members toward raising healthy, beautiful Koi....you know...those gorgeous HUGE fish that you see nowadays in so many beautiful ponds! My hubby and I have been literally "hooked" by these wonderful creatures. Now that we have been exposed to water gardening in a big way, we are on our way to also being totally addicted to these lovely creatures. There is nothing finer than to sit by one's own pond, in the cool of a summer evening, as these adorable pets come up to the pool side begging to be fed.
