Gardening, for me, is a dream that subconsiously started nearly 60 years ago. As a child I used to roam my Grandfather's 10 acres in a little town called "Shawnee", in Oklahoma. I didn't realize then, but I certainly do now, that this little plot of land that belonged to my folks and my 'Daddywill' would have a major impact on my adult life. I lived in a 'fairy tale' land. My mother would open the door in the morning and I'd dash out to play all day in this once in a lifetime 'Wonderland'.
My Granddaddy had oodles and gobs of pets. He had pigeons, turkey, geese, chickens, horses, milk cows, tame deer.....why there just wasn't anything he didn't have...and love. And I got to help him nurture and care for all these beautiful creatures. Consequently, I literally lived outdoors for so many of my growing years that being near nature has been an integral part of what made me who I am today. I love to caress the land and 'nurture' it....and in return, it has always nurtured me!
Please, step into my gardens of the past and take a tour!
